ISOHAEMAGGLUTININ TITRES - serum
Specimen: 5 mL
blood in plain tube.
Method: Serum reacted, over a range of dilutions, with red cells of known blood
group.
Reference Interval: Consult laboratory.
Application: Investigation of immune deficiency, esp humoral deficiency.
Interpretation: Absent or low titres of anti-A or anti-B isohaemagglutinins,
in individuals of the appropriate ABO blood group, suggests humoral immune deficiency
eg Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome.
